I have a plan to install a Kenwood DNX7100 in my '07 Yukon Denali, with Bose, and rear DVD entertainment, and no on-star (BTW, I have my 15940102 factory unit for sale for a very good price! including US/Canada DVD Map and OEM Antenna and JP Customs VSS adaptor). Is the PAC SWI-JACK and a GMOS-LAN-02 is all what is needed to get the HU fully working?

I know that the GMOS-LAN-02 is supposed to be used in a Bose equipped trucks, but I heard that its not compatible with Denalis, is that right? and why?

How hard is it to hook up the steering wheel controls? is it involving removing any part of the steering column?

And last, for the DNX-7100 owners, does it have the capability to change the LED color of the buttons? (just like the Pioneer AVIC-3) I've noticed that it has a blue LEDs which looks so dull with the green dash of the Yukon/Tahoe!

ihavent heard of any issues with the gmos-lan-02 not workingin the denalis.

 

Hey I bought the same Kenwood for my 2007 Avalanche. I had no problems with the GMOS-LAN 02, but I am having problems with the PAC SWI-JACK. It should be easy to install. Just find the light green wire in the BCM. Once hooked up with the green wire from the inerface, you're ready to program. Well programming is not working for me. The Techs from PAC think I have the wrong green wire. I have tried every green wrie under the steering column. If you got yours to work, please let me know.

 

Did you guys have to do any cutting in the back in order to fit the radio?

I am trying to get the GMOS-LAN-02 to fit with my Kenwood and having a tough time squeezing everything in

Just a quick update--I did manage to get the Kenwood Nav/Radio installed this morning but it took all day and some creative handy work involving a drill, hole saw cutter and dremel. Essentially I had to acquire an extra 1/2 inch of clearance to accommodate the RCA plugs for the Bose amp. At first I felt weird using such barbaric tools on a $50K vehicle but now that I got the dash cluster remounted, I've successfully suppressed those memories.

BTW, you know that big 3" conduit pipe that runs across the dash behind the radio? It's not important is it?

Kind of what I thought. It just holds the truck together.
