Default Intermittent stalling/No Start Help

Hi guys,

I have a 2004 Tahoe 5.3 VIN Z Flex with 251k. I'm having an intermittent stalling and no start issue.

First time this occurred was about 3 weeks ago, I started noticing surging and hesitation upon acceleration, a few days later it finally died while driving. Would crank over but not start. Sometimes it would start but for only a few seconds. I originally thought that the fuel pump would for sure be the culprit.

Next day it starts fine. I did not want to start throwing parts at it and figured I would take to shop. They pull a u1000 code from the CAN BUS, some sort of communication error. They didn't have any electricians at their shop so I took it to another shop that did. They told me to replace the gauge cluster (it was malfunctioning anyway). Still didn't solve the issue, they took it back in. It took them a couple of days but they narrowed the issue to either the PCM or the BCM. They consistently got the PCM to fail. So they replaced that for me, also recommended I replace the MAF because it was throwing a hard code to replace it. So I replaced that.

Upon test driving everything ran ok for 30 miles or so so I parked it. Next morning it took longer to start and I drove it 2 miles to the store, it was running very rough in the parking lot while idling. Drove it home, it stalled again pulling into the driveway. Pulling codes P0171 and P0174. It had those codes anyway and I already knew the Intake manifold gaskets were leaking, I figured maybe they had finally gotten bad enough so I did those. The two codes went away. Truck ran really smooth when it did run, it died a couple times. I wrote this off as having air in the fuel lines from the gasket install. Finally got it to run and idle good for a while. Took it for a drive, 7 miles later same deal, surging, hesitation and eventual stalling. Same as the first day it happened. Had my scanner on me when it did and threw a P0336 code. So I towed it home and replaces the Crank position sensor today. Started up fine and drive for about 4 miles and died again. I waved the white flag and took it back to the shop. It didn't throw any codes this time. I have no idea what's going on, something is killing this truck and I cant figure it out. I've replaced gauge cluster, PCM, MAF, intake gaskets, and crank sensor. Through all of this fuel pressure has been spot on for starting and running. Any tips would be awesome
