Angry Intermitting loss of power steering?

Hey guys i have a 2000 Chevy Suburban LT 4x4 1500 with a 5300 v/8
She has about 10700 miles on her.
In the last 2 months she starting loosing power steering at very low speeds. Like when parking or pulling out of my driveway. The fluid is at the right level and i don't here any noise from the pump or belt.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this.
Also do you need to change power steering fluid? If so how do you do this?
Thanks for any help
Rick

Since I am new to taking care of my vehicles myself, I have found a website that answers most of these types of questions, you might have to search a bit for what it is on the page you are looking for, but there is some great free information HERE maybe it will help you or someone else in the future to find the info you need.
