Smile Issues with 2007 Tahoe OEM DVD

I have a 2007 Tahoe LT with the Navigation/Rear Seat Entertainment system. Recently the DVD player has been acting up - some DVD's play for 30 mins. then starts freezing up; other DVD's (even brand new ones) won't play at all. My wife seems to think that it may have something to do with whether or not the DVD has a menu on it. Even so, the DVD's without menus lock up after a period of time.

CD's play with no problems....

Has anyone else had this particular problem?

Thanks!

The first step I would take is the easiest and cheapest. Try using a cleaning CD in the player.
