What Jack does everyone here use? Asking because I've got a Black Jack 2 ton from Walmart. I think its maximum height is like 13 ½ inches, or something like that. I put it on the frame to lift it and the tires wouldn't come off the ground.

Or is there another location I should place the Jack? I don't want to put it somewhere that isn't strong enough to support lifting. I think I have a couple of spots I can use on the rear end, which I've seen people use as Jack points before.

It may not be recommended, but I put a block of wood between the jack and the frame and it works. Been doing this for many years with no problems. Of course I also use a jack stand.

I have - and like - the 3-ton low profile/long reach 3-ton floor jack from Harbor Freight.

I always put something between the jack or the jack stand and the frame such as a piece of wood or thin piece of rubber to prevent steel to steel contact which is pretty low friction.
