JP Customs amp interface connector question for 07+ tahoe/yukon
I ordered http://www.jpcustoms.com/store/custo...307&page=1today and i wanted to know if i HAD to have a 4 channel amp for the nav to work( I DONT have the bose system), or can i use a 2 channel amp?? i already have a system with subs and an amp. so i guess i need a amp to get the nav to work so let me know if 2 channel would work or not. IF not im getting this super cheap amp for 45 dollas till i upgrade my speakers. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=17594would this work with the nav?
The amp is for the door speakers. If you only use a 2 channel, you'll only get 2 speakers to work. Unless you piggy back them, but then you'll be running the speakers at 2ohms instead of 4ohms. Make sure the amp can handle it
Not sure on the wattage of the stock speakers, but they're probably around 20-30 watts so that amp may be a little overkill. Either replace the speakers with aftermarkets that can handle that amp, get a smaller amp, or don't turn the amp up too much o you don't blow the speakers
Treyd45, I am also in the process of installing the nav in my lt2 non-bose tahoe. I've installed everything successfully, the nav unit, the vss wire, the wires to the onstar box, the antenna, and the gm-1416 interface, but i have a problem. I have a 4 channel amp and everytime I hook the rca cables to the amp I get a loud whining sound. Do you have any suggestions? Please email me at sonnysteen@msn.com so we can talk about our projects. I cannot get anyone to help me.
