Unhappy Just about to buy a Tahoe...

An almost brand new '08 for a killer deal... However, GM's bankruptcy is looming around the corner and i'm worried if any of you have any feedback on whether or not service, spare parts etc will keep coming in.. really dying to get the car but a little worried about whats gonna happen.. What do you all think?

Default new tahoe

Not to put you off; but I bought an 09 LTZ with 6 miles on it.... AND am still confused as to why.

1. brand new rattle in driver's door
2. after they 'detailed' it (lol, **** poor job) scratch in driver's door sill... they are to replace the part when it comes in (5+ weeks so far waiting)
3. Voice commands for GPS destination NEVER worked from new.
4. Upon alleged repair of system, new rattle behind dash and OnStar light is now RED.
5. I hit the OnStar button, remote diag, now there is something wrong w/the OnStar communications equipment.
6. the right rear window when moving down (open) makes a terrible clicking noise like the glass is under stress (the other 3 windows do not)
7. on my way to work today there is now a high pitched rattle in the driver's side A column.

yea, $57,000 sticker and it's been to the dealer more times than my 14 year old one.

but hey; that's just me! there have been a lot of people here without problems...

the dealer has been great about the issues and helping correct them; but is it too much to ask that this not happen brand new? isn't that the idea of buying something 'new'...

I could have bought a BMW or Lexus for this kinda $$$

as for the ride / handling however, it is nothing short of amazing. the suspension is HUGE. this is like a truck on steroids, the entire frame / chassis is a work of art.

Sounds to me like your dealer has some careless techs...

I wouldn't worry about GM going bankrupt. In fact, I would feel more secure in my warranty if they did. It would then be backed up by the government.

That's the same gov't that runs Amtrak, US Post Office, Social Security, and Medicare. Gee, I feel better already. Curious as to what it's going to be like when the UAW negotiates w/ itself. Atlas Shrugged.
