Default just bought an 01 suburban LS

I know it's a 5.3 liter, its got the auto 4wd, and has OnStar but I'm not gonna pay for that crap. I've always driven jeeps so this is my first "grown up" vehicle. I know about the transfercase pump rub issue these get and luckily this one isn't leaking yet. Are there any other problems I should know that come up regularly after 170000 miles?

Your OnStar is obsolete anyways. It's an analog cell system, and that went away when the cell companies switched to digital around 2006-2007.

My 01 has 193,000 miles. Major items I've replaced:

Fuel pump - it whined for about a year before it died
Front wheel bearings/hubs - one-piece units, expensive
A/C condenser, clutch and tensioner pulley
Power window regulators
Rear self-leveling shocks ($300 each) for the ZW7 suspension
Exhaust manifold gaskets
Brakes and rotors are/can be problematic
Just recently replaced the driver's seat controller - it was possessed and would move on its own or not at all.

Mine has the original engine, transmission and transfer case. All function flawlessly. It's been a great truck for us. Had it since 2005, made many memories in that truck.

The windshield washer fluid bottle leaks pretty bad, I think they had summer grade fluid in it and got down to -20 the other night. So I think it broke the pump. Also the front air dam isn't there how tough are they to find/fix?

I found that the OnStar does work, is there anyway I can convert the antenna for it on my back window to a cell antenna?
