If I were to take a guess it was a cost savings cut... same with only putting a keyed lock on the drivers door...is GM addressing it I donno...

 

The video stated that they were working on a stronger steering wheel lock. Also said the 2010s had steering wheel lock but guess it was just the Eskys as mine doesn't. Hard to believe that GM would have a model specific column after all of those years w/ the "gone in 60 seconds" column they put on everything. All it took was a slide hammer and a screw driver and you were on your way. No messing hot wiring needed.

Bottom line: if they want your ride bad enuf, they'll get it.

 

just thought it was kinda strange to see that....heck if they want my tahoe that bad, i'll take the insurance money and buy something else....oh and dont live in detroit 8^)
