point understood marie but understand that up to this point nothing you have written in this thread makes any sense. I'm sure you have good intentions and have advice you think might be helpful to everyone here but the approach, man the approach is no good. Try reading what you type before posting and maybe you'll get a bettter response.

Just my 2 cents ...

Installing a K&N Air filter will not void your factory warranty, I have one on a GM vehicle that I own. However if the filter is seriously over-oiled and there is evidence of coking of burnt oil on the MAF sensor element a dealer may elect to deny a claim on the MAF.

I have heard of instances where aftermarket extended warranty companies have declined engine warranty repairs after discovering aftermarket performance air filters or elements based on the premises of “modified beyond factory specifications”, but many of these companies send out adjusters specifically to figure out new ways to screw consumers, if it weren’t for the K&N filter they’d find some other bogus reason to deny a claim.

So are we saying it's better to maybe stick with the "dry" filter like an Airaid or something?

AEM, Outlaw, and the GM Performance all use dry filters. The Airaid is an oiled filter!
