Default Lifetime XM shut off

I bought Lifetime XM back in 2009 when I bought my 2009 Tahoe.
I sold the Tahoe to someone back in January of 2019, when I replaced my Tahoe with a Tesla Model 3.

He texts me to let me know the XM shut off.. I thought what the heck? While I'm under no obligation to assist, I figure I'd at least try...
I call Sirius XM, and I'm like what the hell? I bought LIFETIME XM for $400 back in the day.
I had a odd feeling about this as my OnStar login showed 10 years of XM, but didn't think much of it, as it was 10 years away.

Lifetime XM cannot be transferred to other equipment, when built into the car. It does me personally no good.
So, I call XM, like... my radio shut off. they said yes, it was out of service and could be turned on for $25.
I said the hell it can. I bought LIFETIME XM, YOU turned it off, YOU will turn it back on, for free.
She put me on hold, then said they would turn it back on.

I don't know if XM is trying to clean up inactive accounts, or what the story was, but I paid for lifetime. It's the lifetime of the equipment, not my lifetime.
Maybe Sirius XM didn't think a Tahoe would last 10 years? In any case, it's back on... and I wish they still sold lifetime plans...
