Wife's 2010 Tahoe has power lift gate. When pressing the key fob or the rear handle latch, the lift gate opens about 10"-12", then goes back to the closed position. You can lift the gate manually, but it is heavy as crap and won't stay in the open position. Any ideas?

 

your struts are out, its feeling resistance and closing. Replace struts.
