Default Limited Slip Rear Axle?

How do I know if I have a limited slip rear axle? It is a 2002 Z71, 5.3L. Thanks!

I don't know what the option code was then but try checking your label which may be in the glovebox. For the 07s, it's G80 for the locking rear axle.

Here are the possible options for your vehicle. They are found in the RPO list inside the glovebox door.

GT4 -Axle Rear 3.73 Ratio (DUP With 5 x 1)
GT5 -Axle Rear 4.10 Ratio (DUP With GT8)
GU4 -Axle Rear 3.08 Ratio
G80 -Axle Positraction Limited Slip

The G80 is actually an auto locking rear dif (not limited slip) and it is standard on all Z71 model Tahoes.
