Looking to buy a 2007-2008 Suburban
Hi there! I am looking to purchase a 07-08 Suburban and was wondering what I should be looking for as far as red flags? I know that oil consumption can be a problem, but what other than that? I THINK I've found most of the differences between LS, LT, and LTZ although it can be confusing.
Also, some seem to have more space in the back than others? Or am I just going crazy?
HERE is the one I'm currently looking at. HERE is another one. How are these cars as they get into their higher mileage?
Edit: Here is another one I just found that looks gorgeous but seems a little expensive for the mileage.
Thank y'all so much for any info you can provide. Have a good one!

Agree, stay away from the '07 models.
Personally, I'd avoid the 5.3 altogether. AFM is active fuel management - cylinder deactivation. I won't own an AFM engine. Period. Just go a Google search for 5.3 AFM and you'll get several million hits. Big problems with collapsing lifters and oil consumption.
Don't forget about the GMC Yukon XL. It's the twin of the Suburban. The Yukon XL Denali has a 6.2L engine that does not have AFM. No Suburban is available with anything but the 5.3, unless you go to the Suburban 2500 (or Yukon XL 2500). The 2500 trucks get the 6.0 motor, which, IMHO, might be one of the best engines GM ever made.
There are no space differences between them - they're all the identical body.

Ahh ok that's great to know! Yeah I've dabbled with the idea of the Yukon XL but haven't seriously looked at the differences in them. Seems like the Suburbans just come with more bells and whistles? I really like the backup camera in them and from the Yukons I've looked at, it doesn't seem like they have that feature..
Yukon XLs and Suburbans have some similar trim levels, but it's actually the Yukon XL that has a trim level not available in the Suburban - the Denali. The Suburban LTZ is almost as nice as a Denali, but still has the 5.3, not the 6.2.
And, if you really want to go over the top, you have the Cadillac Escalade ESV, which is similar to the Yukon XL Denali.
