Hey good luck on your search. There was not a lot of changes made on them during the years that you are looking at. Push buttons for the transfer case, maybe even rear air as an option on the later models. You may want to ask about the intake gaskets being changed. They play out around that mileage, my 98 had the intake gasket changed at 89,000, also the pot metal fitting at the front right hand side (passenger side) of intake has a corrosion problem.

Later,
Joe

They got a new interior in '95, more powerful engines in '96.

Take care and God bless,

Well 95 had the throttle body engine so not only it wasn't all that powerful but it also sucked on gas. The 96 and up are the best, with the sfi vortec engine. all of them have leaking intak e gaskets so yeah like vettebuilder said, check those and check the fitting on the back of the intake where the heater core pipe goes into. they also have oil cooler lines problems. Other than that try driving them when it's moist out, if the rear brakes grab it means that you have after market shoes on the back and should replaced them with gm. And you might also want to ask about the fuel pump being replaced, when you get one you might want to put a new fuel filter on it every like 20k so that you don't strain the fuel pump. But all in all, those trucks are pretty solid
