Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Something seems a bit odd besides the low price personally I'd expect that to go for about $1k more? I'm not usually a paranoid person but the mileage seems too low. According to the Carfax it had 112,631 miles on 09/17/2014. This means they did not drive it since then. Isn't that a bit weird? Or am I being ridiculous? I mean, it does say By Dealer, so it could have been a trade in that sat for a while before going to auction then ending up here on CL..?

This Suburban still seems like my best option. Should be looking at it tomorrow.

I don't think you're paranoid at all. I'm the same way. If the price seems too low there's always a reason. And I would wonder how a 19 year old vehicle only has 112k miles on it. Not impossible, but unlikely.

Good luck with the Suburban. Be sure to post up how things go with that deal.

Is it possible to rather than rolling back an odometer make it go slower? Because that is my suspicion about the yukon with 112k miles.
Anyway I'll update about the burb tomorrow.

Well, I bought the low mileage (113k) 96 Yukon. I hope I'm still welcome on here because it says GMC on the front

The Yukon runs great it does idle a bit rough. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase. Will post pics tomorrow!

Also the Dex-cool coolant that's in there is definitely cruddy. Should I flush it and replace it with conventional green coolant?

I'd certainly hope you'd still be welcome as I'm going to look at a Yukon tomorrow.

Congrats on your purchase. Looking forward to those pics.

Let us know how your search for a Tahoe/Yukon goes

Totally forgot to take pics today (tomorrow, if I remember) but I took a drive up to my office and back and it performed wonderfully.

The rough idle is rather annoying, though :'(

Here is the GMC Yukon, at work
And here it's at home next to my (non running) 97 Silverado:

They look good together. These trucks are fantastic. I really didn't like the GMC design on the front before this week (I always thought it sucked in comparison to the Chevy front clip) but now that I have both it grew on me and I like them equally... lol.

You bought that for $2800? That's amazing. I'd kill for a deal like that. But around here any vehicle 19 years old is going to be a rust bucket, and they'd still want more than $2800 for it.

Enjoy! Sure looks like a good buy to me.

We negotiated and paid $2400 plus fees, taxes etc which brought the total right to $28xx again. But yes, I love my truck
