Looks like I'm driving drunk but its my Tahoe's fault...help
I have an 04 Tahoe Z71 and when I go above 60 mph it swerves all over the road. Its like I have zero control of the truck. It didn't even feel like this when I was driving (well, sliding) on 1/2" of ice last winter! I'm just waiting to be pulled over for a DUI. That will be a lot of fun explaining its not me, its my car like some kind of dear John letter to the cop.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it... a few weeks ago I heard some roaring noise from the front wheels and thought it was a bearing. Then it stopped after about a day. Then the brakes began squealing, that has now stopped. Last week, when I started to brake, it vibrates (still doing it). Probably need front brakes.
Today I noticed that my front tires are now bald on the outsides (see diagram below).
But I doubt the swerving has something to do with my brakes.
Other problems:
Lights out on steering wheel - radio controls, gas, options, etc.
Thing that holds my headlight in is broken (how?? oh well. Another thing to fix)
Dash rattles when I'm idling.

I'd say it was an Idler Arm since it's doing it over a given speed.
But, those things usually last a lot longer than just seven years, unless you have really high mileage.
Most all those parts are DIY, but, I'd go through the whole thing. Tie Rods and everything. If cost is a problem, just buy a pair at a time, BUT wait, and install them all at one time. Then, you'll only have to make one trip to the alignment shop after the fix.

if it was my truck, I wouldn't drive it until I knew what the problem was and could judge if it were dangerous to keep driving. right now, if you hit someone it is totally your fault. some insurance companies(assuming you have insurance) may not cover you if the vehicle isn't in proper working order.
