Edipus,
The 5.7 liter V-8 is known to leak coolant from between the intake manifold and the head. It is sometimes not easy to find. Mine was leaking on the back of the engine and it wasn't easy to find. The reason for this is bad gaskets.
If you can't find it leaking any where else (Hoses, radiator,???), it most likely the problem.
Good Luck, Dondobe

I picked up some sealer stuff that the guy at checker recommended, but will that gunk up the radiator it that's not the problem? Anyway, I think the radiator cap sounds the easiet and cheapest to check, so I'll try that first.

My 98 5.7 did that too. You keep driving it long enough and you see the leak sooner or later. Mine was intake gasket, which i was told like to give probs around the 100k mark.
Dondobe said it right, the 5.7 has that problem, I just wonder how long the new gasket will last again. I still run the Dexcool type coolant and some times wonder if that is a problem waiting to happen.
Good luck.
