Hello All
I am in the process of replacing the fuel pump in my 2001 1500 4wd suburban.
Have the straps off ,fill lines off and the back of tank partially tilted down
I see the 2 fuel lines and electrical going to the fuel pump in the center of the tank
But....there is a round metal cover/shield over the fuel pump with 2 small bolts,maybe 10mm
There is a part or id # on this cover ,VRS028 3
I have watched videos that explain the process on how to replace the pump
But none mention removing this metal cover/shield first
Do I just remove the 2 bolts on this cover,I am assuming I do,but just want to be sure
Does this cover bolt into set-nuts on the top of the tank?
Looking with a mirror it looks like the fuel pump under this cover,2 fuel lines and electrical going to the opposite side of fuel lines
Any help is appreciated
