Default MSG: Service 4WD

Just bought a 2003 Suburban with 200k miles on it. Got a msg that says Service 4WD. The manual says see the dealer.
Would like to know if it just means the fluid needs changing, which I'm hoping for, or could it be more serious than that. Hopefully not.
Do not have the repair records so can't tell you when it was serviced last other than routine oil changes.
It does seem to switch from 2wd to 4wd and back as it should, although im not an expert on this as its my first 4x4 of this type.
Any thoughts are appreciated before i take it in to have it checked.
Also not sure how that msg will be reset, i can cancel it but it comes back.

Default 4x4

Found this online... looks like it answers my question and gives me stuff to check.. If anyone wants to offer up anything else, feel free.
