Thanks, I'll give that a try. I was debating not using the third screw at all, cause they seem pretty solid already. I tried the method you used on your Ram, but I couldn't get the screw to bite.

Has anyone used protective tape to protect the paint around the wheel wells during flap installation? The Husky ones came with the clear 3M tape, but I don't think it is needed as the molded flaps don't even really touch the painted area....

I have had the molded ones installed for almost a year now and did not use the tape to protect the paint (I don't think mine came with any). The other day I noticed that some of the paint around the bottom of the flap had been rubbed off. Trust me...use the tape or somethingto protect the paint. The flaps seem to catch alot of wind while going down the highway. So needless to say the mudflaps on my Tahoe are there to stay!!

FYI to anyone who might be interested in my flaps I am sellingdo not use tape! He is referencing his molded ones!!There is no tape involved. Just a couple already existing liner bolts to be removed and you are done.

The tape I was mentioning was for the vent visors. Obviously if I pull them off the tape isnt going to be good enough to use again. Just buy some 3M double sided tape for a couple bucks and you are good to go.

As a moderator you should know that selling stuff is supposed to happen in the classified sections.

The molded OEM ones certainly DO touch paint. The entire side is against painted area. I recommended 3M tape on page 1 or 2 of this thread. You should really consider this if your are going to mount the molded ones.

By 3M tape, I think you are referring to the clear, paint protecting film as opposed to the 3M double-sided trim tape.

10-4 thanks for clearing that up. Rub through paint protection inthe form of a film is what I meant.

Just curious. Does that film come on a roll like a tape or in sheets with backing paper? Thanks.
