Mystery of the flashing airbag light.
Hi all,
I have a 2000 Tahoe LS (new shape) I've had it since new and it has never been in an accident. For some reason the airbag light is coming on intermittently. Sometimes, after start up the light stays on then goes out a few minutes later. It can come on in the middle of a trip and stay on 20 minutes then go off. I noticed that quite often when it's on, if I shift my weight in the seat, it goes off. Aha..! I thought, a faulty seat sensor..but I now find the 2000 Tahoe doesn't have a seat sensor. It just failed it's inspection (because the light was on at the wrong time ) I'll have to get it squared away and will go to a dealership to get a scan but I hate going in there without an idea of the possible problems.
Anyone else had that trouble..? Does the 2000 Tahoe have a seat sensor of some kind..?
Thanks. Dan.
