Default Nav Voice Commands

NAV disc 6.0c that updates the firmware fixed my voice commands for destinations.

what voice part is not working on yours?

You only need the year and model for the nav discs...

I wasn't scared

Just curious to hear what the actual differences are from the last release to the most current one. Not sure why a VIN number would be required for this general information.

I think more people reading this thread would be interested in hearing the differences as well. If you find out, please post in this thread.

Actually I did get a response back on this and was told that all of this information should be on the www.gmnavdisc.com site. If you haven't checked it out yet I suggest you do so. You can find the right disc for you vehicle and you can order the disc straight off of the site as well as call into our Nav Disc phone line for questions at 877-NAV-DISC or 877-628-3472. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.

You're starting to sound just like the guy that ran off the last GM guy that was very helpful. He got promoted to Administrator. Forum must be a gov't bureaucracy.

I haven't kept track but Jeff seems to have helped several w/ cracked dashes.

I checked and double checked the Gmnavdisc website and if there is the information as to the differences between disc versions and updates it certainly is invisible. This is and should be evident to you the kind of support given to us the customer by GM.

there is nothing on that site that will tell you anything - just trust what we have told you on here. there are more updated roads, POIs and a few colors. It seems to turn on much quicker and it activates the rear camera immediately vs the slight delay I had with the 3.0 version.
not a big deal just an update but a worthy one if you are running a version 3+ years old

JimJ,

I’m sorry; we do not have that information available to us. We do not have a way to find out what types of updates have been made to the discs. I apologize for the inconvenience. I highly encourage you to speak with Nav Disc for that type of information. They have the proper tools to let you know what the differences and updates are.
Thank you,

Elizabeth, GM Customer Service

I have the new disc and as far as I can see there wasn't much improvement. Like some one else said my old Tom Tom 710 is much better and it was a lot cheaper than a $2250 option and $200 for questionable upgrades. Oh and I went from Ver. 2.0 to 6.

Default wow

I'm glad i'm not the only one disapointed in GMs attempt at social media. Here I thought I was just being my regular mean self... turns out (as is usual) I was right...

Yes; the info on here is more accurate, informative, useful, and easier to find than on GMs own site

I do my best to provide factual, case use, logical, and accurate information for FREE, out of the ideals that exchanging information provides us all with the best answers and solutions. (a little star-trek too much maybe lol)....

I had posted a NAV DVD 6.0c changes thread months ago, which is why I didn't explain more on this thread..

I can't do a search on sat nav or 6.0c since it's "too short" else i'd post it here... (search is your friend)...

Anyway, yes,a $200 6" GPS blows away the factory one in every possible usage. except the smooth integration...

if they can annoy me by asking if I want to find gas stations on the GPS, why aren't the incoming calls shown on it? with a NAME AND PHOTO.

why does 100 years of automotive design and $56,000 come down to "check engine" when you could pipe the problem AND SOLUTION to the 6.5" color touch screen?
