Default Nav Operation

So the radio is cool - not gonna lie about that.

The nav functionality on the other hand - IMHO is a bit lacking. Does the system provide turn-by-turn navigation?? All it tells me is to go onto a road and to follow the route on the screen (something like that anyway).

Could this be due to the fact that I sill have yet to install the VSS with the VC module??

I'm a bit 'deflated' about this lack of functionality. I have been using PDA-based GPS systems for a couple of years now and they all get rather verbose with the instructions to the point that you have to turn down the volume a bit.

I checked all of the settings that I could find, downloaded and read the manual, and it kind of seems that there is no turn-by-turn.

Anyone?? Bueller... Bueller... Bueller.... Frye.......

It has turn-by-turn voice prompting and voice recognition but you need to have the wire adapter from JP Customs installed to utilize it.

You only have half the system up and running, wait to judge till you get it fully functional.
I take it that you got you a nav DVD and it works?

I was REALLY hoping it had to do with that JP component. Phew. I feel a LOT better now. [sm=hail.gif]

Yeah - the DVD arrived late yesterday after I got back from the dealer.

I wasn't judging... just making certain that I didn't miss something, forget something, or misread something. The JP thing will arrive on Monday. I hope to get it installed on Tuesday while it's still light out (after work). How long do you think it will take to do (assuming that the wood trim is already off)???
