VanDamme, I understand what you mean. The PAC interface is made to work in conjuction with the factory Bose amp. You said you had to reconfigure the interface, can you explain how or show pics and what was the result of your modification. I have had mine installed 6 months and it still sounds like shi... Maybe if you tell me what you had to do i can fix mine. I have been to 2 shops and neither one has been able to make it sound right or take the engine squeal out. Besides sounding like crap, door chimes not working, no sound on the back-up sensors, no sound from the Onstar, and no bass I love the nav. Please help!

sorry for the delay in posting guys (if anyones still reading this topic) i've been out of pocket for a bit. anyways, i did get everything installed with the exception of the vss wire.i connected the pac device in between the head unit and the factory harnesses. i then ran the rca outs on the pac device to an alpine pdx 4.100 amp(http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...odel=PDX-4.100). the amp is mounted inside the center console. i ran a connection from the battery to power it. to get the signal to the speakers, i cut the speaker connects running out to the speakersfrom the factory harnesses and ran them to the speaker outs on the amp. i used the diagrams from installz.com to see which wire ran to which speaker (you can test this as you go by touching a 12 volt battery to the wires). i will get the vss cable connected this week. i noticed there is a extemely low hum comming fom the speakers (only audible in complete silence). i have no doubt that this is because of where i have the amp grounded. it needs to be sanded down because there is paint there. my next part of this project will be replacing the speakers and getting a rear view cam. the sound is already like 10 time better because the non-bose system is crappy sounding. it should sound even better with the apline speakers i have picked out.

sonny do you have an amp installed? i had no bass either until installing it. i didn't actually modify my pac device. i used it as is. once the amp was installed all my door chimes, turn signal clicks, and voice nav prompts were audible.

the hum i was getting turned out to be me needing to adjust the gain on the pac device....simple.
