Default Navigation on the highway

Has anyone else noticed that when you are driving on the highway with a destination set, if the screen is in full map mode, the left side will show the map and the right half of the screen shows upcoming exits with gas, food, etc.
Is there any way to turn this off?

I have set all poi's off and this still happens whenever I am on the highway. I have no interest in these poi's or else I would hit the poi button.
All I want is the full map and maybe the upcoming turn by turns.
Didin't the display used to be customizeable in this fashion on the old tahoe nav unit?

Thanks for the help and for allowing me to vent.

Hey, when you figure this one out let me know too as I hate the small nav directions and all the POI garbage on the right. Such a nice big screen and it is reduced to a small left screen near any off ramps. Fortunately we do a lot of traveling away from the big cities so most of the time we have the full screen.

This is my problem as will. It just kills me when there is traffic and I exit the freeway. I can not see surface streets will enough to pick.
