Default Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recent study

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15820639/

So the Stabilitrak system on the '07 Tahoes is not considered Electronic Stability Conrol? Was this an oversight on their part or what? Clearly stated on Chevrolets site under Safety Features " StabiliTrak - The StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System improves vehicle stability, particularly during emergency maneuvers." I don't understand??

I heard that story on the news this morning too and checked the website to make sure the Tahoe's had it. The report even called it E.S.C. and said no American model had it. Doesn't make much sense.

I'm not sure about you guys, but I don't believe everything I read in the newspaper. The article is only as intellectual as the person that wrote it. Kinda like here. No offense big!!!

Jason nailed it!
The media has always been very partial to Japanese and German auto makers, so much so that they rarely get their facts straight.
Journalistic propaganda.

Fact is: GM sells more vehicles with ESC than any other car maker in the world and the system saves lives.

If you read the full article it does say that GM will have ESC standard on all 2007 SUVs and some 2007 Trucks. Here is the quote.

"General Motors Corp. said nearly two years ago that it would make the technology standard in all vehicles by 2010, including all SUVs and some full-size pickups in the 2007 model year."

I read the whole article and the little snippet about GM is the equivalent of saying that; China has a small population.

The article only refers to US Made cars and not SUVs.

The Tahoe should be alright with the ESC.
