look in youtube there are some videos on how to operate your nav unit
I thought you had the same h/u that I have in my '07 SILVERADO cause there's no button to close the screen (but there's one to eject the map dvd) but when mine opens the screen is facing down and what you have to do to close it is lift it and push it in evenly until it clicks, but obviously yours is different
and by the way welcome to the forum!!!

AFAIK it strictly a DVD based system. Can you get a DVD and see if it will accept it and then maybe the Close button will appear on the screen?

when I replaced our navi DVD it was very obvious how to open and close the screen...what does it do when you turn the truck off? Does the radio and screen still work normally with it tilted out?
sorry but I am not driving it today or I would go out and see exactly what I did

When I shut off the truck, it goes black like it always has. the radio & screen work like it would if it was in.

I guess the question is did the navigation system work before you started playing around with it ? If it did I'd say a trip to the dealer is called for.

It worked before I starting playing around with it & still works. It is just in the slide out position.
