Default Need '02 Tahoe/etc Stereo Wiring Diagram

I just pulled out the non-functioning aftermarket stereo (it was stuck in demo-mode), and am putting in a newer one. It's a total rats-nest behind the dash, and I have no detailed documentation except for the Haynes book and it says it's for 'typical applications'.. which isn't much help here.

I tried the new radio while it was sitting on the dash and it sounds very cheap (it wasn't! ) and tinny and with not much volume or bass, like I don't have something hooked up right. Does anyone have access to the Tahoe wiring diagram for this chassis?

Looking at the truck, I have a 9-speaker setup but there's no up-front connections for the sub-woofer (altho it must be connected as it put out a very weak sound). How's it supposed to work? Is there a splitter somewhere?

In series with the basic wiring, I found a little box labeled "OS-1" by Pacific Accessory Company, which googling tells me it works with OnStar. Since I don't plan to use OnStar, can I just take it out of the circuit?

Where to start?

If you still have your wiring issue let me know I have a 2002 Tahoe I would be glad to take some pictures of my harness for you. Or this link might have some useful info for you it is more for by passing the amp but if you read it will give you color and pin location in the factory plug. http://www.savagehomeautomation.com/...s_Tahoe_02.pdf

Oh wow! This is about the best Christmas gift I coulda received. It is exactly what I've been trying to do, but couldn't get a handle on where to start. The link is superb in explaining everything, and does it very concisely too.

Many thanks to you, and to the original author.
