In need of a huge favor by someone with a tahoe 07+ in Dallas area

nice..
I'm not personally attacking your request, but you did ask the general public if they would allow you to borrow a safety device from their vehicle.
I offered what I thought were valid alternatives, I of course don't know your situation or all the details.
I find it odd anyone would remove an airbag from a modern vehicle regardless of use. That seems quite illogical to me, but I don't perform border patrol. Nor would I purchase a vehicle that had been used in that manner.
I will not dissuade you from attempting to borrow someone's airbag for inspection. I've done something similar with tires for my Jeep, so they wouldn't stick out past the fenders... however putting my buddies tires on for 20 miles seems, in my mind, a bit different than asking for his air bag.
Carry on.

Don't fear.
Someone left their door unlocked!
Now I don't need to borrow anyone's airbag.
Ha kidding ofcourse but "my" inspector says it'll pass, so I do not need one now.

There's several other forums and judging by the posts, meet your need for a younger generation input. Personally I always believed that wisdom comes w/ age and experience but that's just me.
Glad you found an "understanding" inspector.

Air Bags are not required to pass safety inspection as there are still cars on the road that were not made with air bags. Glad you found that out because I very seriously doubt you would find someone to let you borrow it.
On a side note, I could take said air bag out of my truck with one hand tied behind my back in less than 2 min but I would still not even let my best friend borrow it for even a min,

yea
As for inspections: in PA if you car came with a safety device you can not pass inspection if you remove it.
Yes, old cars did not come with airbags, and before that seat-belts. but if your car came with it factory, it needs it to pass here.
I'm glad other people agree that lending an airbag is not the best of ideas.
No worries to the original poster though; I needed to borrow a drive shaft to get my 4x4 working again, so I didn't even need you to unlock your doors and by borrow I mean... look at my new drive shaft
