Try living in California. You could remove the airbags...cut out the seat belts...hell, even pull the seats and replace 'em with upside-down wooden pails. As long as every piece of factory-installed emission-control equipment is in place and functional, and what comes out of your tailpipe smells like roses.

The U.S. government does a lot of things I don't understand, but I don't get why they removed the airbag in the first place. Were they afraid that bouncing around in the desert might accidentally set it off? And even so, why didn't they reinstall it before selling the truck to a private citizen who would have to have the truck inspected?
