Default new engine 4 97 tahoe

Coming up on 250k on the 5.7. I was looking for more power and better fuel mileage. Any suggestions? I'm budgeting $4k.

I read about an L'S 4 with an aluminum block. Is that an easy swap?

Default umm..

I would think your $ would be better spent saving for a vehicle with the attributes you want...

Trade yours in + $ on a newer one that may give you more of what you want. Although in most gas engines those things are mutually exclusive.

You'd be looking at a crap ton of work, custom wiring, gearing, adapters, etc. Then even if you get it running right, when something goes wrong, where do you look? it's all custom. Then when you go to sell it, who's going to buy a super custom job?

Or, just leave it alone... $4,000 can buy... what? 1,000 gallons of gas depending on your location.
