I just finished installing a set of speaker Pods this weekend. The install was really easy and straightforward, took about 30 minutes per side to install the pods (includingfumbling with removing the door panel) The fit and finish is awesome, and the pods are more rigid than the door panel. The speaker placement is nearly perfect (I did have to bend the parking brake pedal a bit for clearance). The tweeter location is better than the factory location, it points the sound towards your ears. I installed a set of Alpine Type-R componentsand I am running them off of the factory Bose system, and I have to say that it's pretty impressive, and a big improvement over the stock speakers.

Looks great...butI'll admit to a blonde moment here. What is the benefit of these speakers pods?

 

No excuses necessary Mary. The purpose of the pod is to get the speaker closer to the listener, to direct the sound directly to the ears without any interference that is created by the stock speaker location (door panel and grille), to allow the installation of speakers that will not fit in the stock locations.... and to look bitchin!!!! I don't really see any point in spending a bunch of money on a set of speakers that no one will ever see. Show them off!!
