We bought this new acdelco A/c control unit with rear defroster for a 1999 chevy suburban.
Im trying to install it but im not sure if these wires should be soldered or not. On the old unit, they were soldered where the arrows are pointed on these two , but wasn't sure if it was from factory or not. ( we had audio install in the pass )

the reason were concerned is because our fan and A/C do not work( even if fan works, the compressor doesn't spin), but we were told by a mechanic that the fuses are fine and the compressor could spin, so it might be the ac control unit and low freon ?
sorry for the sloppy thread, in a rush, but i need answers, thanks

all factory connections are going to be removable connectors nothing will be soldered. I'd guess the previous owner was trying to bypass something that wasn't working or had a accessory connected..
Trace them back and see where they go or cap them off and see what doesn't work later...

I looked at it today and we find out that a loose connection in the rear of the climate control unit was preventing the blower motor to work.
Anyways the a/c button still doesn't engage the compressor, but when the button is pressed, the blower motor turns off ? i haven't found where the yellow and orange wire go to, but they are in joint (or spliced) with two other wires. yellow with green and orange with brown ?
so yea, still clueless other than the fact that i know the fan works by itself.
