Hi everyone.
I am looking at a Tahoe Hybrid as a first car when I turn 16. I am a year away. Anyways I have some questions.

1st. Is it worth the extra money to get the hybrid. I am located in California so I think I might get a little break?

2nd. What is the difference between a Yukon and a Tahoe. Or is it basically the same except one is "GMC".

3rd. If I didn't get a Tahoe I would look into getting a Avalanche. What are your opinions about those apposed to the Tahoe.

and last 4th. Should I get rims on it or keep it stock if I were to get a tahoe.

Welcome to the forum,
The hybrid has some advantages but they will only be beneficial if you used them, by that I mean if you think you might be heavy footed with the gas peddle then you are likely to see zero benefit from the electric mode, the hybrid is designed for city driving in electric mode. Is it worth the cost? that depends on how long you intend to keep the vehicle and utilize the electric portion.
In my opinion the Yukon and Tahoe are the same except for some design differences, its supposed to be the "middle" vehicle between the Tahoe and the Escalade, thou I am sure there will be ample input to that question.

As for rims for the Hybrid that may require some investigating as the tire and wheel size may factor in on how the hybrid operates.

As for the Avalanche vs. Tahoe well you can stand a refrigerator up in the bed of the Avalanche, you can't in the Tahoe,what kind of cargo do you plan on carrying around may better answer that question.

also consider resale; and repairs; I think the Hybrid has a longer warrenty on the hybrid parts; but I'm not 100% sure.

The hybrid also tows 1,000lbs less... (if you need to tow)

as for the Rims; I would keep it stock; they were designed to work w/the hybrid parts, as were the tires

I have seen some good deals on the hybrid on cars.com / etc

I do like how the hybrid has sat nav standard

My 1st car at 16 was a 1987 Station wagon, that was my grandparents...

No A/C, no defroster; no power anything; but I could fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back w/the seat down...

and it did have cool jump seats in the 3rd row that sat backwards...

which was in 1998... so it was 12 years old then..

Yeah, The resell value is what I am concerned about. O'h one more question since I'm at it. When does the 2010 chevy line come out? (If there's any...Chuckle).

Concerning the avalanche vs. tahoe. The avalanches are rattle traps. So if you mind rattles and lots of noise. Don't get a avalanche unless you wanna always be trying to fix something that rattles like crazy going down the road. I personally like the tahoe more. Just my 2 cents.
