Default No oil pressure and black smoke

Hey guys need some help.....my sisters 2009 Tahoe has no oil pressure, puffing black smoke and running rough. It does have a CEL on....haven't got to pull the code/codes yet...any ideas??? Any info or direction would be greatly appreciated

If it's reading no oil pressure, do NOT drive it. It may be a bad sender, but if it really has no oil pressure, driving will kill the engine, if it isn't dead already. Have it towed to your mechanic (independent mechanic, not a dealership).

+1 the oil pressure sensor could be bad.
the mesh screen under the oil pressure sender could be blocked. remove the sensor and screen and check the screen. if its blocked and intact...wash it out and re-install it.

check your oil level. is there any ticking or knocking...as these are signs of no oil pressure.

black smoke is a sign of overfueling. blue smoke is oil burning.
