OEM FILLIMENT BULBS V.S. LED BULBS???
The question below is for my 96 Tahoe:
I'm new to this and I am wondering first off, if theres any advantage between
a Clear LED Bulb VS a Red Colored LED Bulb, in as far as being BRIGHTER in my Tail Lights?
Given the answer to the question above, (in the "old School Days" we had 1156/1157 Bulbs).
What stock numbers are those bulbs in my 96 Tahoe?
I know they look the same, but the bases are flat instead of round.
In closing, has anyone made this conversion and how do they like it?
I'm looking for a simple "Plug-n-Play" solution without having to worrying
about burning wires, load equilizers ect.Respectfully,
Roger

RE: OEM FILLIMENT BULBS V.S. LED BULBS???
If you have red colored lenses on your taillights then you would want clear LEDs for the brightest look.
The Red would only be needed for clear lens applications if you follow me.

yes the clear ones will be brighter but as far as not having to modify them is not possible you need to put load resistors on them i sell the bulbs for $15 a piece and the resistors for $15 a set

RE: OEM FILLIMENT BULBS V.S. LED BULBS???
Thanks Tahoe 07, but now I'm confused.[8D]
I went to: http://www.superbrightleds.com/
1) Everyone I've talked to says that WHITE/CLEAR LED's are the brightest.
Superbrightled's says that in the color spectrum , that a RED LED would be brighter due to the "type" of light they emmit. Anyone care to comment on this?
2)When it comes to Load Resistors, they're sigt says ther "already installed" but I cant see where that is?
3) They also talk about an LED Flasher, so I suppose I need one of those too?
In a perfect world, I'm looking for a BRIGHT LED bulb to replace my old style Filliment Bulbs
with a load resistor built in.
According to thier "Fitment Guide" my 96 Tahoe requires (2) 3057 LED'sTail/Stop/Turn/Running,
and (1) 3156 LED.
Just looking to see if I've got it straight
