Oil burning issues?

 

Can you be more specific? Mileage, type vehicle, maintenance done, smoke?

 

more specific please.... if you're talking about the 5.3 it is common for them to use a little bit of oil but how much are you using? The amount will help determine if it's a major or minor issue.

 

bought at 60000 miles, out of oil 4 times in 10 months (none on the dipstick) they've put splash shield in, pcv valve and lifters, still burns at least 1 quart of oil every 2000 miles-gm says that is ok? if it gets worse (more than 1 quart) they'll look into it then 2007 tahoe ltz

 

Back in the late 60s when big block Corvettes were making the scene, oil consumption had to be worse than one qt per 500 miles to get warranty work. Not sure what it is today but doubt one qt per 2,000 miles is going to be considered bad enuf.
