oil and fluid change - sub 2007
well, i'm not here to fight and i'm not owner of royal purple inc.
)
All i know is, that i exchanged my original oil for royal purple and since that i never heard "knocking" in cold start, like before.
Well, and about "GM approved" fluids
heheh, I know, GM needs to make some extra money
heheh So, why not to force you buy a "super special GM approved" oil
Why should they tell you, u can use any other brand.
Thx for help anyway
*sorry, just watch this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqvhRi7-iMA&feature=fvw

I thinking and I still cannot figure out how GM makes more money by recommending any 5w30 that meets a specific specification.
Now, for the transfer case, they are the only supplier of Auto Trak II, so they probably make a marginal amount of extra profit on a fluid that most people never change. In fact they recommend that you only change it every 100K, so most vehicles will only be eligible for one change during their usable life.
Sounds to me like a worldwide conspiracy that can only be remedied by a small plucky company that hails from Porter, Texas...
By charging more than GM does for the AC Delco fluids.

Are you going to just change the tranny fluid or are you doing the filter also?
Might as well change out the power steering fluid as it is susceptible to moisture.
Hitting all the hinges and latches with lithium grease is a good idea.
and a squirt or two of chassis lube for the ball joints and U-joints if you have fittings on them.
