Default ok one more question...

ok i have the vortec 350 in my suburban...when i go out and start it in the morning it fires right up....if i drive it a ways and it sets for lets say an hour....it has to crank for about 10 seconds before it will start...now if i run it and shut it off and go back out and start it again in 10 minutes it runs fine...once going it always runs great full power and idles fine...what could be contributing to this problem...any responses are appreciated thanks!

The place to start for any hot-engine hard starting issue is the fuel system.

The "standard" old-school answer is that fuel vapors are impeding fuel flow, but in fuel injected engines this is rarely a problem due to the high pressure fuel systems. If you see any smoke, especially black smoke, during start-up on a hot-start, this can indicate a leaky fuel injector or a similar problem such as the fuel pressure regulator. Even if you don't see smoke, that's still a possibility. Check your plugs, you should be able to tell if one of the cylinders is flooding out periodically.

The starter could be the culprit, too, they're mildly sensitive to heat, but typically only abnormally high heat.

Other general hard start issues can be your battery, distributor, or voltage regulator, but these are less commonly related to hard-starts only at operating temp. Not impossible, though.
