Default Opening power liftgate with doors locked using remote...

Should you be able to open the liftgate with the doors locked using the remote? I can and I don't think this is right...you should not be able to open anything unless the doors are unlocked first...what if I am walking away from the car and accidentally hit the button..

Mine will open but you have to hold the button for a few seconds.

Mine is the exact same way. Even if my doors are locked, all I have to do is hold down the tailgate button for a couple seconds and it opens right up.

I've hit on accident too, just like you were talking about. I was inside for a few hours and I came out to see that my tailgate was wide open and I had no idea how long it had been open for.

You may not have hit it on accident. When I first got my truck the tailgate kept opening by itself. After a few trips to the dealer to try and figure out what was going on we eventually replaced the rear pressure pad opener switch. It was defective and kept opening and closing the gate whenever it wanted. Lucky it didn't hit the garage door.

I think that's why GM made it so you have to depress the button for about three seconds for the rear hatch and remote start so it makes it difficult to do by accident.
