Default Our 4WD systems

Does anyone know if the motor that places our transfer cases into 4H or 4L move (other than performing the actual shifting) with the system? I have a whining when in 4H or when the system gets activated when using Auto mode. Trying to determine if it's the motor or case bearings.

the encoder motor on the transfer case just moves a shift shaft.

some transfer case torque bias...all depends on the build.

first thing I would check the tire aspect ratio. the rolling circumference of each tire should match. if they don't, you will get noises in auto

Got it. Checked some online vids and pics last week and saw that it indeed just shifts the transfer case into different ranges and that's it. Tires are new and measures out fairly close. I hate to admit it but it seems like it's a bearing.
