Default Painting my wheels white...

Im in the process of buying some 24's wheels for my 2007 Tahoe LT3. I want to paint them white and leave the lips chrome. I noticed that the wheels I wanted comes in 2 colors. Straight chrome and Black with chrome lips. I also noticed that the black with chrome lips is cheaper than chrome for the whole package with tires.

Here's my questions, Is it more easier to paint or powdercoat the black or the chrome? Remember I want to color them white and I really want the white to match the color of my Tahoe ( Summit White ).

Thanks for your help in advance!

I would think it would be easier to paint the black wheels than the chrome, but i'm not the expert. I just want to see them when they are done because I have been thinking about doing this for a while on my white Tahoe....

Well with powdercoating your going to have to take off the black because they cant powdercoat one color over anotherit has to be raw metal. The powdercoating will last longer then paint too.Its all really up to u.

So I spoke with my wheel guy this past weekend and he said that it doesn't matter which color I choose, because they will both go to the same process anyways. So he gave me the option of painting or powdercoating them. I chose to get it powdercoated because he said it last longer and has a much better finish to it. I went ahead and order the black with chrome lip package. He gave me a very good deal, way cheaper than I thought and on top of that he also offered to paint my grille and bowtie white to match the car and the wheels. He said by doing this I should be the first one around my town to have this done and that is why he was willing to work with me cause he's as excited as I am on how it's going to turn out. I live in Bay Area, California. I seen all kind of tricked out tahoe's in cali and never seen anything like what i'm doing.

It should be ready in 2 weeks and I will post some pics once its installed on my truck... MAN IM EXCITED AND CAN'T HARDLY WAIT!!!

Finally got my truck out the shop... Picture of the front looks funky cause of the shadow from a light post. But I'm really happy with the way it turned out. But I don't like how it sits kinda high. So I might be lowering it soon.

2007 Tahoe LT3 - I took it on top of the garage by my work to snap some good pics..

That came out great...... Definately need some dark tint and the 2/3 drop. Can you do me a favor??? Ask your guy if you able to powdercoat chrome wheels?? I'm pretty sure you can...but just want to clarify.

Thanks AZSCTACO.!! My next upgrade will be a 2/3" drop and Magnaflow dual exhaust... Also getting my front windows tinted and adding some chrome accents on my door handles. Hopefully by next month when I get my tax refund.. Ha!

And yes you can powdercoat chrome wheels. The wheels I was going to do at first was chrome but I realized that the black style comes in much cheaper. I figured why pay for a chrome set when I can get a black set for much cheaper.
