1999 BURB ran like a champ week ago wife barely got it home. I got home from work tried to start finally kicked. Took around the block when on the gas did not want to move. Seemed starved for fuel. Parked it shut it down has not started since. Thought fuel pump, replaced it nothing. Replaced filter still nothing. Opened pressure reg. got great pressure so new pump is working. pulled plug have spark and shot some ether into the intake wont kick. anyone have any ideas?? Please

Default RE Help

Okay no matter how many layers computers they lay on all cars have to have 3 things_spark_compression_fuel

Have someone get in the truck and ground a test light out and probe the hot wire going into the pump assembly.Have them turn the key on see if your getting power to the pump.Rent a fuel pressure tester yours should 52-60lbs. Key on engine off.

Second..how did you check for spark and what color was it..?If you just grounded the plug on something your not getting good contact spend 15 buck on one that snaps on the plug and has a big alligator ground clip.

Your spark should be bright and blue..if its small and orange something is wrong.

fuel pressure should be 60-66psi,if you have no spark it could be the crank sensor or ignition module

Do you have a code scanner for this? It is a 1999 so it could be something like Throttle Position Sensor is butt. No Signal no start.
