Just curious with changing some things from same year suburban but 4x4 is it possible to turn a 2wd into 4x4? Specific to a 1994 1500 with 5.7L
I have been wanting to see about this I bought a clean barn find 94 gmc 1500 suburban 2wd while i was looking for a 4x4 initially I couldn't pass it up.
Whoa would it take in parts if it can be done and from what specific donor truck would work ? Maybe there's a write up for this ?

 

Welcome to the forum. Salvage yards usually have something called a Mitchell Interchange Manual or a Hollander Interchange Manual. You might check those out online also to see what you can figure out from that information.

 

Almost anything can be accomplished if you throw enough money and time on it. This would be awfully involved though.
To purchase a Suburban of that vintage, likely under $5K.
