Default Power Lift Gate buzzes but not open

I just bought a 2007 suburban LTZ that has all of the options I could ever think of. So far everything works on it but the lift gate. I almost think it's just something that I am overlooking.

When I grab the handle on the outside, the door opens with a little buzz/vibrate and then the struts do the rest of the work. However, the buttons don't do anything. When I push the buttons to make the power liftgate do the work, there is no response at all.

Any ideas?

Default no response

so there is a buzz or not?

if not, I'd say fuse

if yes, I'd say some mechanism has failed.

Hi Davpmars,

I understand that you are experiencing difficulties with your lift gate in your Suburban. Please feel free to send me a private message referencing your concern. I cannot guarantee anything, but I will be glad to look further into this for you. I look forward to your message!

I've done this a few times before I realized I just didn't have the switch at the front of the truck in the "On" position. When you push it to open the liftgate, it goes to a middle setting, and if you push back it goes to "off" mode where the FOB and door handle will not work.

You are right Bird, that fixed it. I figured this out a few days ago and haven't had time to update this thread. There are just so many buttons It's been a chore to figure out what they all do. I actually printed out the users manual (mine didn't have one in it) and just started reading the whole thing.
