Default Power Liftgate stopped working

guys,
My wife backed into a street sign on the left rear bumper..left a gouge in the plastic of the bumper cover, but no structural damage. Went shopping, used the power rear liftgate w/ the key fob, then when we went to open it 1/2 hour later it will not work. Won't work with the handle button either or the inside button bottomside of liftgate. Brother and I checked fuses 20 in dash panel, and 44 and 71 in the under the hood fusebox...anyone have an idea what could be wrong. Fuses were good. Motor inside rear panel not engaging.

thanks,

Dave

Welcome to the forum.

I didn't know there was an inside button on the bottom. I guess the overhead button by the rear view mirror doesn't work either?

Default wow....

I didn't know there was a button up by the rear view mirror. Gotta check that out. Any ideas if there have been problems with the motors that run the liftgate up?

I just realized where the button you were referring to on the liftgate. How could you press it w/ the liftgate closed? I must be missing something but it's late.

Default problem solved..

guys,
I went into the truck this morning and found that button by the rear view mirror...turns out my wife let my son open the moonroof and he turned the liftgate off...when I hit the button and the gate went up....I was breathing a heck of a lot easier. Thanks for the info on the button. That switch under the tailgate is used by us to close it.

Don't feel bad, you're not the first that had the front button in the locked position and didn't know it.
