Power Steering Thread

A few years ago, my 2000 suburban became hard to steer, especially when cold. If I revved the motor up a bit it seems to fix the problem. I wasn't exactly sure what the issue was but I "assumed" it to be the pump. I changed out the pump and it really did nothing, plus it now whines constantly. Is there a common problem related to the steering that anyone know of or is it not normal for this to occur.
As far as the whining goes, I was told that it had air bubbles in it but that was two years ago. I cant imagine that it still has bubbles.
Any advice in this department?

gm has a cold climate power steering fluid which may have helped your original problem.
you now have air in the system and it must be purged out. you may need to put a vacuum on the system to do that at this point.
If you did the install correctly and bled the system properly before starting the engine; and the pump is noisy...you may have got a bad pump.
if what you did was fill the reservoir and start up the engine? this will introduce air into the system.
