putting dana 60 1 ton axles on 1/2 1991 burb

I saw a burban build online and he put the dana 60 1 ton axles front and back onto his 1/2 ton. Is this recommended? I know he upgraded the suspension to accomodate, but what about the frame? is the 3/4 frame much more beefy than the 1/2 ton frame?
