Default Quick NAV Question

I want to get my Nav programmed (Tech2) and have just one question: Will the radio function without the DVD???

My DVD hasn't arrived yet and I'd like to get the programming out of the way sooner rather than later.

The radio should work just fine without the nav disk. It is only a nav disk, shouldnt have anything to do with the radio! I hope I am correct, lol.

In my wife's 06 Civic, the Nav radio won't work without the DVD inserted. What's more scary is that the radio is Windows-based!!!! No Joke!!!!

The Nav disk goes in behind the screen and the Nav unit will not work without the disk. The disk that goes in from the outside is for music,mp3 and or DVD if you have that option. It works independently from the nav unit.

I picked up my truck late in the day when i bought it, had not been cleaned or anything, which was fine with me, I had rather do it myself. Anyways, the nav had not been programmed either, but the radio, xm cd, dvd, everything worked just fine. Went the next moring had disk put in and then ofcourse nav worked perfectly.
